For the safety of all the animals in our care, we require that all dogs be on a leash, in a carrier, or carried in the clinic, and that all cats be secured on a leash or in an appropriate carrier.
To allow ample time for our patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment. Though walk-ins are accepted, it is best to book an appointment in advance to ensure that a doctor is available to see you in a timely manner. Scheduled appointments will be attended to prior to walk-in appointments. Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delays are inevitable. Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time.
We strive to stay on schedule and we need you to do your part in helping us achieve this goal. Appointments that arrive late cause a number of problems:
- Patient care becomes rushed, increasing the risk of medical errors.
- Increased wait time for those that did arrive prior to their appointment time.
- Increased stress for the doctors and staff trying to get back on schedule.
- Increased safety risk for both the staff and patients as we are rushing.
Patients are asked to arrive 5-10 minutes PRIOR to their scheduled appointment. Late arriving appointments may be asked to reschedule if the veterinarian’s schedule can not accommodate you. Priority is given to patients that arrive on time. If you choose to wait, the wait-time may be considerable and unpredictable.
Missed appointments without notice interfere with our ability to provide service to many pets and interfere with our ability to run our day efficiently.
We kindly ask that you give us 24 hour notice prior to cancelling an appointment. This allows us to offer that appointment to another patient and helps our doctors and staff efficiently navigate the day. We understand that cancelled appointments happen for a number of reasons and that some are unexpected and unavoidable.
Should you find yourself in need of emergency veterinary services outside of our regular hospital hours, please call the London Regional Veterinary Emergency and Referral Hospital at 519-432-3300. They are located at 41 Adelaide St North (at the corner of Nelson St.).
In general, surgical appointments are checked in between 8:00AM and 8:30AM and the surgical procedures are performed in the late morning or early afternoon. We ask that animals booked in for surgical appointments not be fed past midnight the evening before, though water may be offered at all times.
Full payment is required at the time services are rendered. For your convenience, we accept payment via the following methods: cash, debit card, Visa or MasterCard. Please feel free to contact us prior to your appointment to discuss our fees or to be given an estimate for required services.
